Ah, progress.

COIVD, T-Cells, good news

blogs.sciencemag.org/pipeline/

It appears that even if your antibody levels drop, your T-Cells remember how to fight it. Related: People who had SARS still have a T-Cell response to it, 17 years later, even thought they stopped having antibodies to it after a couple of years (this is new data)

We don't know how good these T-Cells are at protecting us, but it is something and means we shouldn't panic about how fast antibodies drop off. It also means that T-Cells are going to be really important in the vaccine working.

So last night I had a dream which featured ~a bunch of dream stuff~ but also I recall getting a tarot deck with these really intricate gold and silver magical seals on the cards. Like these were taller but thinner than normal thoth deck cards and the seals were mostly circular but had almost layers of writing/circuits on top.

Then trying to return it because I'd bought a super expensive print of the deck and just wanted a small cheap one to see what it was like.

oh my god, so, I've been reading Trans Wizard Harriet Porber And The Bad Boy Parasaurolophus, by Chuck Tingle, and it is legit the best fiction book I've read all year so far and

Been doing some playing around with the outlook.office.com webby app piece of shit I have to use for work.

There seems to be no way of actually replying inline or bottom posting you can do that will make it happy, it always just displays "(No message text)" in the message thread preview mode thingy - I have tried both from mutt and inside itself - then someone has to specifically click the message open to read it.

So basically shitty implementation is mandating top posting. Great.

The other day I heard the term "glimmer" for the first time; it's the opposite of a trigger. It's something that brings you to a state of emotional regulation and safety.

Personally, I love this term.

"I've never been in a forest before," he says.
It shows in how he steps, what he looks at, what he doesn't see.
"It's nice," his companion says.
Now she, she knows forests.
"It's like a temple," he exclaims.
"No. It's far more cruel, and less holy."
She nods to me. "It's a God."

It would have been funny if it weren't true!
The proposal to re-evaluate "years of experience" in "skill level" is interesting.

Today I was showing @dragon the existence of neocities as a source of cheese, but then we discovered Lainzine and have decided it has the best tech aesthetic ever: We skimmed issue 4 and found stuff on chaos, compiler optimisation, how to build a tazer, and how to build an IRC bot. But also the a e s t h e t i c is epic.

The earliest recorded use of the word "otherkin" for people who identify as other than human was July 9, 1990 in the Elfinkind Digest mailing list. Yesterday was July 9, 2020, so that word was coined exactly 30 years ago! Happy belated Otherkin Day!

Delta Green: Impossible Landscapes

Now its 2015, we're in Boston about to go to a "Birthday party" / probable DG briefing, we're already getting spooky events from the past and we know that time travel/time not being real is a feature of this plot from interacting with it already.

I've got about 3 disorders and 31 San going into this. I'm weirdly looking forward to playing through a characters complete collapse in the face of horrifying, inescapable entropic art.

Delta Green: Impossible Landscapes

Just had a pleasant evening with the peeps of my long running Delta Green campaign (thanks @mrvi ) we've flashed back to '95 and done part one of Impossible Landscapes where we made it through to a theater surrounded by marionettes as part of a missing persons investigation involving heavy amounts of The King In Yellow.
