WAT?! You're telling me there has been a team at Facebook designing and implementing this feature, and not one person has stood up and asked:

"Uhm, isn't that super creepy, even for us?"

Honestly the most hilarious pointless revenge I have ever seen writ large across a whole continent. Legendary :)

±8 years after killing google readers and announcing the death of RSS, Google decided to integrate RSS again in their Chrome browser:

Well, we didn't wait for them to realize that RSS is not dead…

Uhm, that didn't take long:

"Freenode IRC operators now engaging in routine abuses of power"

Reality show concept: STRANGER DANGER

Contestants are taken to a stranger’s home where they stand in the shower and try to (A) get the water to come out and (B) of the right place and (C) to 100°F / 37.7°C in the fewest adjustments

my friend who teaches kids, just schooled me on tentacles vs arms

1. the idea of the "carbon footprint" was invented (by literally the fossil fuel companies) to take the burden off business and government and make individual people think it's THEIR fault (and their responsibility):

The techlash is a bust

After three and a half years, the U.S. backlash against tech's biggest firms has failed to dent or daunt them. Their profits are up across the board and they sit on massive hoards of cash.

And, crucially, the nonstop barrage of high-profile CEO hearings and scathing reports has so far failed to produce any significant new law reining in tech's power.

#tech #bigtech #techlash

Also is operational now and like you should probably go grab your nicknames and channels there.

I live across the street from 2 homeless encampments and I want to post this over every inch of my apartment

It said: "In order to protect the safety, public health and well-being of all people involved in the detention and subsequent protest in Kenmure Street, Pollokshields, today, Ch Supt Mark Sutherland has, following a suitable risk assessment, taken the operational decision to release the men detained by UK Immigration Enforcement back into their community meantime.

Crypto AG: “For decades, the Swiss company sold encryption devices while being secretly owned by the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency and Germany's intelligence service, which could freely read what it encrypted.”

For (the very few) local users, oops I filled up the root disk (not the actual drive where masto lives) which may have made stuff act a little strangely last night. All better now.

Just finished doing Doom 2 (Gzdoom and the super fun Hellrider weapon mod) from start to finish on a pretty easy mode, for the first time in at least a decade.

The Hell Levels are way better in terms of design than I remember, Barrels O' Fun is an awesome wanker, The Spirit World was a tasty really surreal design with invisible walls, and The Living End really pushed the boat out in terms of design and scale.

First chunk is also good, middle chunk good but weakest with a few gotcha levels.
