Today I discovered and added hl-sentence-mode to my (github.com/milkypostman/hl-sen).

It's got a few bugs (interacting with folded org sections) that I'll fix later, but having that additional bit of focus on the current sentence really helped my evening to not write ridiculous run on sentences and really make each serve a better point, suprisingly effective.

transcription:

"An apology, to my wife:

I am sorry,
The kids were playing
Some sort of cowboy game

The five year old
Kept yelling
'Yippee Ki Kay'

I did not think.
Instinctively, I
Finished the phrase.

And now he knows
A new word."

Honestly, this is a non-masculine gender I could identify with.

I also love that this is straight-up giving people a pronoun card.

if you think comic book names are silly, remember there was a physicist on the Manhattan Project called Nick Metropolis and he built MANIAC I, a computer powerful enough to help them build a hydrogen bomb by calculating the complex physics in the microseconds of detonation

Just think, in 2 months we'll be able to say Johnny Mnemonic happened last year.

Mining my own cryptocurrency with my computers. I call it “dust.” I collect it when I open the case and clean it every six months.

when you think about it, the idea that software should scale is actually really weird. "sure this garden is nice, but how nice can it be if it doesn't grow to cover the entire surface of the earth?"

I got zero responses last time I hit up the Fediverse offering paid creative work, but I'm not giving up!

Some #Owncast features being worked on require iconography. And while we could use an icon library or something like Fiverr it'd be nice to work with an illustrator on the Fediverse who focuses on icons to have something that is custom.

This is paid work, so please boost and tell your friends.

Feel free to message me on the fediverse or email me: gabek@real-ity.com

Doing again this year and ... yeah, last year I wrote fun fanfic and it was easier because I had a whole world.

This year I'm building world and grinding out plot at the same time. It's like a bunch more intense.

TL;DR I should have planned more.

Programming is when you never have the time or money to do it right, but always have the time and money to do it twice.

You know how the Eiffel Tower won the Grand Prize at the 1889 World Fair? Well, it had to share the glory with a book.

Not any book: A book ENTIRELY WOVEN IN SILK.

You heard right. And nerds, get this: All pages of this book were produced on the Jacquard loom in 1889, using thousands (200k-500k) of punch cards. Only 50-60 copies were made. >

Finally!!! Edible amber bear!!

RT @GammaCounter@twitter.com

That neolithic amber bear everyone has seen? Well, @boursier@twitter.com made a 3D model *from the photo* , printed the bears, used those to create silicone molds, and then created edible, cola-flavored gummi bears. HE MADE GUMMI BEARS BASED ON A 3500 YEAR-OLD BEAR. instagram.com/p/CVnsXKav2uzIAK
